The Leonite - Potassium Fertiliser's  investment .

The raw material necessity of such an outstanding investment like this has been considered as the most important aspect by our Company since the very beginning of our master plan. 

At Lake Acigol in Afyon and specially at Lake Tersakan in Konya Alkim completed lake operation systems - new ponds -  in order to produce Leonite ( the double salt of Potassium Sulphate and Magnesium Sulphate ).

Alkim is realizing its raw sodium sulphate and raw sodium chloride production by the natural processes. The natural raw sodium sulphate is dehydrated in our production facilities. The production of Leonite ( K₂SO₄.MgSO₄.4.H₂O ) will be included to this production chain and as a result, we will have a great advantage in the production of Potassium Sulphate. Due to its seasonality, Leonite produced in our lakes - ponds in July – August. In 2007 August, we obtained raw Leonite in our pond, and a small scale purification plant has been constructed at our Lake Bolluk Sodium Sulphate Plant. The Leonite production capacity has been improved and the current production capacity is 400 tons / month. The demand for these type of chemicals has decreased in the whole world, therefore the sales have been decreased since September 2008

As of 30 January 2008 Alkim has received the official licence and production permit for fertilizer manufacturing.
